Mount Gay Rum

Mount Gay is a Barbadian rum with one of the deepest histories in the category, tracing its documented origins to 1703. Produced in the parish of St Lucy, it is widely regarded as the world's oldest commercial rum distillery, giving the brand a strong claim to the heritage of Barbados as one of rum's great homes.

Now part of Rémy Cointreau, Mount Gay continues to make rum in Barbados using both pot and column distillation, a combination that helps balance depth, structure and approachability. The style is typically dry, rounded and expressive, with notes of vanilla, spice, tropical fruit, oak and molasses rather than the heavy sweetness often associated with some modern rum styles.
