Revived in 1989 by Alexandre Gabriel, the house is rooted in Grande Champagne, the premier cru of Cognac, and draws on the history of the Ferrand family's long involvement in winegrowing and Cognac-making.
The brand is part of Maison Ferrand, the independent French spirits house also known for Citadelle Gin and Planteray Rum. Ferrand Cognacs are produced from Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, with an emphasis on traditional distillation, long maturation, French oak and a more detailed, craft-led approach than many larger Cognac houses.
The range includes expressions such as Ambré, 10 Générations, Double Cask, Sélection des Anges, Légendaire and older or more limited releases.
