Hard To Find Whisky

Hard to Find Whisky - known as HTFW - is a specialist retailer built around one clear mission: sourcing bottles that are genuinely difficult to find elsewhere. With one of the largest selections of rare, discontinued, and collectible whiskies in the UK, they cater to serious collectors and enthusiasts looking for expressions that have long vanished from distillery shelves.

What they stock

The catalogue is dominated by old and rare Scotch whisky, including vintage single malts, closed-distillery releases, and limited-edition bottlings from both official and independent sources. Beyond Scotch, they stock rare expressions of Irish, Japanese, and world whiskies, along with select cognacs and other aged spirits.

Closed distillery & vintage releases

HTFW is one of the go-to sources for bottles from distilleries that no longer operate - Port Ellen, Brora, Rosebank, and others. These are sourced from private collections, trade stocks, and long-held inventories, with each bottle's provenance carefully verified.

International shipping

Despite specialising in rare bottles, HTFW ships worldwide - including to the EU, US, and Asia-Pacific markets. This global reach has made them a trusted source for international collectors who find it tough to locate vintage Scotch whisky through local retailers.

Collector-focussed service

The team understands the collector market and provides detailed bottle information, condition notes, and provenance details where available. For high-value purchases, they offer careful packaging designed to protect rare and irreplaceable bottles during transport.
