Wolfburn is one of the most successful recent revivals in Scotch whisky, bringing back a historic name from Thurso in Caithness. The original distillery was established in 1821 and later vanished, but modern production recommenced in 2013 at a new site close to the original spring, restoring whisky-making to a name with deep roots in the far north of mainland Scotland.

The modern distillery has built its reputation on a house style that is clean, smooth and quietly characterful, with an emphasis on balance rather than flashiness. The core range features expressions such as Northland, Aurora, Morven and Langskip, each displaying a slightly different side of Wolfburn's style, from unpeated and gently fruity through to more smoky, cask-strength releases.

Wolfburn has also developed a strong identity as an independent northern distillery with a hands-on approach and an increasingly well-established visitor presence in Thurso. The current team page showcases a broader production and operations team rather than presenting Iain Kerr as the current distillery manager, so it's better described as a modern distillery shaped by a tight-knit team than by a single named figure.
