Glenburgie is a Speyside single malt distillery near Alves in Moray, with origins often traced to the early nineteenth century, when the site was known as Kilnflat. The Glenburgie name became established later, and the distillery's history has included periods of closure, rebuilding and quiet reinvention rather than steady public prominence.

Today Glenburgie is owned by Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard, and remains an important malt whisky source for Ballantine's. Much of its production goes into blending, where its fragrant, fruity character helps provide lift and balance, although official single malt releases and independent bottlings have allowed enthusiasts to explore the distillery on its own terms.

The whisky is typically elegant, rounded and fruit-led, with notes of pear, apple, citrus, honey, vanilla, soft malt and gentle spice. Older or richer cask-influenced bottlings can develop more texture, bringing orchard fruit, toffee, polished oak and subtle tropical notes while retaining a clean Speyside core.

Glenburgie is one of Speyside's quietly important distilleries: more visible in the structure of famous blends than on shelves as a standalone malt, yet capable of producing single malt with real charm and poise. Its best bottlings show why blenders value it so highly.
